AW13: Giles Deacon Appreciation

My favourite collection so far for AW13 (this will probably remain) is Giles! Giles Deacon is fast becoming one of my favorite designers for reasons that I think are evident in the images above. (Images found at style.com.) Usually I look through collections and can pick a few outfits that I love, but with this collection from Giles, I literally adore everything! Apparently he has taken inspiration from the idea of heaven and hell, to me though, this is just heaven! His designs are so theatrical and the print and contrast of different materials and attention to detail is what makes Giles Deacon an amazing designer. Just look at the gorgeous colours used in the pale pink and gold maxi dress. Words cannot express how gorgeous this is, as well as the faded pink fabric used for the dress and coat and I am in love with the tailored white shirt. One word to express this collection: Genius! I could actually eat these clothes they are so delicious! (That's not weird right?)
If anyone else has a different collection that they have fallen in love with for AW13, let me know. I love any excuse to look at more talented designers.

LFW- Celeb Style Spotting

*Sigh* What I would give to be at London Fashion Week right now.
Like probably a lot of fellow fashion bloggers, I just don't feel right knowing that this beautiful, magical event is happening in London right this very second and I'm stuck all the way up north and nowhere near the FROWers and all the beautiful people and clothes! Like the earth is on a tilt or something and everything feels wrong. Just me...surely not!
I am constantly looking up the latest news of what's happening at LFW and looking for images of latest shows and of course, what I most look forward to...what the guests are wearing!
I've seen so many amazing outfits on several websites, but  I was surprised when I found that my favourite outfit (so far) was from Alexa Chung at the J.W.Anderson AW13 show. Wearing an outfit from a previous J.W.Anderson + Topshop collaboration.
I know a lot of people see Alexa as a style icon, of course I know she has great style, but for some reason, there is something about her that has always irritated me and I hate saying that, because I honestly don't know what it is! Well, maybe I've converted to the happier side, because this outfit is absolutely heavenly and my favourite image and outfit of all the fashionista guests I have seen so far. It's refreshing to see her in something not so heavy and masculine and a bit more feminine, but still giving it a fashionable edge. Just a simple cable knit cream jumper and lemon A line skirt make such an interesting outfit, paired with little bow detail heels and vintage earrings. You would be worried on paper this might be too twee, but I think she nails it and should work this look more often.
I can't wait to see what the rest of the weeks going to bring and hope to be wowed by more gorgeous outfits!
Do you look forward to LFW?
If so, what's been your favourite show and which style icon has caught your eye?

Lashes of London Competition

Etail Pr have teamed up with Lashes of London and are running an amazing competition to win a Lashes of London £200 gift voucher! I absolutely love the Lashes website, their clothes are absolutely gorgeous and I love looking through their look books and seeing their photo shoots!
All you have to do to win the £200 voucher, is create a wish list style collage of clothes you love, that are currently on the Lashes of London website. Here is my wish list collage for Lashes...

When I had a little nosey on the Lashes of London website to see what's going on my wishlist, I was immediately drawn to their 'Unicorn Kiss' collection as this is completely my style all over! Firstly, the name of the trend is adorable and secondly, everything in the collection is very girly, but with an edge (exactly what I go for with my style!) All the clothes are absolutely yummy! Gorgeous pastel colours, mixed with on-trend metallics and sequins, my idea of heaven. As I have fallen in love with this collection, I have based my wish list collage around unicorns with my pretty background. I like the look of it all together, as I  think it suits the brand and has a fairy tale feel to it.

I have to admit though, after choosing four of my favourite pieces from the 'Unicorn Kiss' trend and making a nice little theme for my board, I did have to slip one other dress in from the 'Brash Baroque' trend, because it is just too beautiful! Of course I'm talking about the lbd in the middle of my collage, how gorgeous is this dress??! I couldn't leave it out, it's just too pretty. If I got the chance to win these beautiful clothes, I think I may cry a little I would be so excited!
I've had a lot of fun creating my collage and hope Etail Pr run more exciting competitions like this. If you want to get involved with this competition, head to EtailPr's blog post for more info.
Good luck to anyone else who's entered!

Max Factor-Pan Stik Review

Pan Stik in Fair- £6.99

After reading a few reviews on Max Factor's Pan Stik, I decided to treat myself to some from Boots on my way home from work yesterday. I am trying to be good with money, but it had been a long day and I needed cheering up, so it's ok! Plus, for what you get, I think £6.99 is pretty good!
This is now one of my favourite beauty products I've bought in a long time. You don't look 'cakey' at all, as you don't need to use a lot to get really good coverage. It creates a really nice base for under foundations and I've found that my foundation goes on a lot smoother and blends perfectly since I've used the Pan stik.
It's also great for days when you don't want to wear too much make up, you can simply add a little powder and go! Otherwise, it helps to give great coverage as a concealer under foundation. Don't be put off as it does look like a giant, heavy concealer, but it's not as daunting as it looks. I would defiantly recommend this to girls wanting better coverage with their make up.
