To Ombre or not to Ombre?..

I am in desperate need of a hairstyle change. For months I have been trying to get my hair pearly white blonde and I've come to the conclusion that, as I have very pale skin, I don't suit very pale hair and that it's been making me look washed out. So I think I'm going to join the dip dye club! I've been tempted ever since Loreal bought out their DIY Ombre kit, as it looks so easy. I'm just scared that it may go wrong and also, I can't decide whether to have dark blonde to light blonde, or blonde to pale pink ends. These are a few images that have given me the inspiration to have a change, but which colour to go for, I just can't decide!
I have to say, I absolutely LOVE Drew Barrymore's dip dye hair! As I rarely have my hair straight and usually go for the messy look, this is exactly what I would want mine to look like, so I think I may go for light blonde ends to start with and see how it goes.
I'll post some pics of the results once I'm all ombre'd :)

What do you think of dip dye hair? Have you tried Loreal's Ombre kit?

Resolutions

I'm a little late on the new year resolutions post, I'll admit, but to be honest I never properly thought about my resolutions and now realize that that's a bit rubbish and not very fun at all! So my NY promises start today. (Promise!) I am determined to make 2013 a great year and I'm going to do everything I can to make that come true!

1. Stop worrying about what others think and to put myself first.

I must admit I'm getting slightly better at this! I've always been quite a scared person who doesn't dare tell someone if I'm not happy about something and I won't voice my opinion. I don't know what it is that's helping, maybe it's just growing up, but I'm getting over this a little and I'm a lot happier for doing so. :)

2. Make a lot of memories with friends and take a lot more pictures.

I have a small group of best friends who really do make me so happy. (Soppy I know!) We've grown up together and stayed strong and even though we don't see each other every week, it's still as fun every time we do meet up. Lately, with working a lot, I find that I don't make enough time for my friends, always using the excuse of 'I'm so tired'. Well, I do not want to get any older and look back and think 'why was I always wining about being tired all the time and missed out on so many things?!' That's not the best way to make memories is it?! So I plan to make a lot more time with them and take more pictures of making memories with my friends and the things that make me happy.

3. Save up so I can do the things I love.

I hate missing out on things cos I'm skint or not being able to buy all the lovely things I so desperately want, but that's the fantastic life of a student for you! I am going to stop spending so much money on pointless things though, so I can save for things I really want. I've decided I'm going to make my own very pretty money jar soon to motivate me, after seeing this idea on other blogs. Hope it works!

4. Of course, eat healthier.

Yawn, I know, everyone has the same resolution and I'm not going to blab on about my new amazing diet plan, cos let's face it, I'll more than likely be back to normal in a week and be stuffing my face with chocolate (very motivated aren't I?!) I'm not going to stop having the things I enjoy, but maybe just not be as naughty when it comes to sweets and treats. I have the sweetest of sweet tooth's so it won't be easy!

Oh and of course my biggest resolution of all..
keep up with blogging and create lot's of lovely posts :)

Reflecting on 2012

Finishing second year at uni, turning 21 and starting a fashion internship, have been the biggest things and turning points for me in 2012. All in all, I would say 2012 wasn't a bad year for me.
So I wanted to look back at the things that have made it a great year!
Celebrating my 21st!
There were loads of pics, but as you can imagine, the later it got and the more drinks that were had, the worse the photo's became and this is the most decent with my lovely friend Alex <3
The cream dress I'm wearing is my favourite dress I've ever had!
My Mum bought this for me as a 21st present from Ted Baker and it's the perfect birthday princess dress! (Plus, it's pleated and I LOVE pleats!)
I had a fab 21st birthday! Me and one of my close friends had a joint party at a small trendy bar with all our friends and family. I was so nervous as I had'nt held my own party since I was like 6 and had a magic show at a civic centre! (ha, bless!) In the end, there was nothing to worry about and everyone had a fab night!

I have THEE most amazing group of friends
and we've had some amazing nights in 2012!
This pic is of me and my gorgeous uni friends, finishing our second year of uni!
I spent second year house sharing with my closest uni friends and it was such an amazing year! Very scary, realizing I was actually living in a house without my Mum & Dad! Very grown up! We just about survived and had the funniest nights while doing so! I've only known them for two short years, but I know they'l be life long friends. We've got up to too much mischief at uni together, to ever forget each other! :) <3

The highlight of the year, definitely has to be landing my amazing internship in October at Daisystreet as a press and social media intern in Manchester! I've met some amazing people and learnt SO much! I've got 8 months left and I'm going to make sure I make the most of my internship and make 2013 even better!

So cheers to 2012, you've been fab!

Blogger Party

 Gorgeous Daisystreet Clothes
Delicious Daisystreet Cupcakes!
Goody bags. Contained a daisy print top,
 feather headband and necklace!

What really inspired me to start blogging was when I attended a Daisystreet.co.uk blogger party for work in Manchester, about a month ago. It was a fab night and there were loads of lovely bloggers there, including one of my favourite fashion bloggers- Kavita from She Wears fashion, who I also got to interview (she was so lovely!) I interviewed around 10 amazing fashion bloggers and spoke about their blogs and how they started out and they were all so inspirational and convinced me I need to get blogging!
The party was a lot of fun! As well as looking at gorgeous clothes all night, we had yummy cupcakes and received a Daisystreet goody bag at the end. What more can a girl ask for?! I really enjoyed my first blogger party and hope in the future I'll get the chance to attend many more and meet more fellow bloggers!

Daydreams & Style's First Post!

Me, working at the Daisystreet.co.uk
blogger event.
(Clothes all from Daisystreet)

So the time has come for me to lose my blogging virginity. I don't know why I haven't jumped on the blogging band wagon sooner, as I'm always looking at and admiring gorgeous fashion and beauty blogs, but never got round to starting my own.
Well the time has come! I'm really excited about creating Daydreams & Style! I'm currently a fashion promotion student at UCLan University and working as a Press and Social Media Intern for an online fashion retailer, so obviously I plan this blog to be mainly fashion focused, but I am also a BIG make up junkie, so I'm not going to rule out beauty and lifestyle posts too!
I can't wait to start blogging and hope you enjoy reading my posts :)

Much Love, Sophie x
